wide collection of esoteric samples, Norwegian lo-fi schizo-house pioneers
Nood serve up a strange brew on their dBut-released album "Shaped
like a taco". Contorted and twisted vocal sounds intertwine with
carefully crafted and distorted beats & pieces. Here and there beautiful
melodic passages lurk under layers of rhythm and sound; surfacing with
stunning results. Lacking any parallel at the blossoming Oslo scene, Nood's
original knob-twisters Per Platou and Ulf Knudsen indulge in a schizophrenic
feast with infectious grooves and quirky vocal snippets as the main courses.
Utilising the Net's potential to it's full extent, the duo has refined
Res Rocket jams comprising more than thirty contributors - the end result
being a highly unique blend of organic and technological elements. Both
live musicians and slightly more digital performers perform side-a-side
giving this album a truly unique feeling. |
